Hi Ross. Good notes Certainly using the time to nut out big ideas and concepts is the best use of downtime for me.. I find the anti jet lag diet to be very useful for me for long distance travel- modulating caffeine, protein, and carbohydrate intakes to fit time zones, and no alcohol. The full program takes a lot of discipline but a day before and travel program works for me. If people want to look at it then they can just search for antijetlagdiet.

Paul

p.s. advised my mother and father to use it when travelling to the UK a couple of years ago. My mother's response " I am travelling Business Class with Emirates, no way a no alcohol diet is going to work"

Love item 7 as the BEST travel tip - works for me even when Ive exhausted every iPhone and iPad battery - I can usually access my stuff in the cloud from a hotel business Centre (but be sure to delete all docs and wipe your session on conclusion!). I also learnt that taking up to 4 electrolyte fizzy tablets per intercontinental flight keeps me hydrated and has totally reversed jet lag hell for me. Whilst this is not practical for all people, I made a decision when I got my first iPad to stop lugging a computer around- I make do with iPad and phone and then use them only when I have wifi connection. The net effect is that I am not constantly checking my devices and I have much greater capacity for observation and learning via all my senses - including making small talk with the locals which is the most powerful way of achieving cultural insight
