Note: 3.0 will allow you to attach devices (of many speculated styles ;)) to the dock connector, as well as via BT.

Soon come! not sure it'll help yer current hardware, but one remains hopeful.

I have no idea what Apple is thinking in not allowing external keyboards – there is no rational explanation. They have crippled the phone – and their users – rather than enabling them. This is insane corporate behaviour, both in terms of Apple’s own interests, and the progress of mobile work, which I would presume they would like to see grow. I am sure I am not the only person who is immensely frustrated by this, and may turn away from Apple because of it.
C’mon Apple – snap out of it and please realize what an intensely dumb approach you’re taking here.
Yeah, it frustrates the sh*t out of me too. I'd buy an iPhone TOMORROW at 9h00 am if bluetooth was enabled.
Go Android go !! Can't wait.

Yes that about sums it up - that's a good insight.
For now, the iPhone is the best on the market and I love everything it CAN do.
But the ecosystem around products is increasingly important, so it may not be long until more open platforms transcend it...

Ross - I think we just have to accept the fact that Apple are control freaks. This means that their designs are of a very high quality (with that control freak mania for detail) but that their broader product ecosystems will always be crippled.
I had been considering buying an iPhone this week but you've reminded why being locked into a 2 year relationship where one of the parties is a control freak may have a downside...
