Ross - we would like to welcome you to take a look at Connectbeam (www.connectbeam.com). Connectbeam provides social software to the enterprise, build around social bookmarking and social networking.
I would be very interested in hearing your feedback.

Ross - we are certainly finding that the enterprise has made the business case for social bookmarking, tagging and social networking for itself. We have designed Connectbeam with a laser focus on enterprise requirements -- integration w/ search and directory services, api suite, etc. -- and found that this is how they want to see the space grow too.

I have some skepticism about Lotus Connections, as it is a play to own the corporate desktop, which is not a likely event. At the same time, IBM will certainly know how to compete, and indeed they do attest to the reality of the market by moving into it.

Disclosure: I'm part of the Connectbeam team; all the same, Ross (and you too blog reader), I'd love for you to take a look at what we are doing. I think you will be interested.
