That skinny kid was Michael Jordan shoes from North Caroline University. He wanted to get a deal with Converse, but they already had all the superstars they needed so they offered him an uncompetitive deal that cheap Jordan shoes had to turn down. His other options included Nike and Adidas. Adidas offered an even worse deal then Converse, and Nike seemed to be the only team who was seriously interested in working with Jordan Shoes. So reluctantly, retro Jordan Shoes took the offer and the era began.
