IT, and the It combined with the Web, and then IT combined with the Web and interconnecting peoples;' minds, imaginations and desire (for the most part) to collaborate .. are bringing about the mass customization of work (and eventually the mass customization of life, for those on this side of the digital divide in developed countries). Addressing business (and knowledge work) issues are a function of structure, culture, capacity, capability and indeed, leadership ... and all of these will need to be thoroughly examined in an increasingly networked world.

Thanks Luis. While sometimes you need to temper your language for some audiences, this is ultimately about transforming organizations, and by extension, society. As you suggest, true leadership is required for this to happen.

Ross,
I really like your tone on that one. I think E2.0 is all about changing the social fabric of the enterprise and, as such, I agree no two transitions to E2.0 will be alike.
That’s why I think most tech approaches to E2.0 (from Sharepoint to Facebook) have a value, if developed in the correct context.
It’s also why I think most of the work to be undertaken is training and people development, not to mention leadership.
