By

I am currently advertising for someone to work at the core of my team, based out of Sydney. I’m advertising online, through word-of-mouth, and it makes also sense to put this on my blog too. Please do pass this on if you know anyone you think may be interested. Blog readers are encouraged to apply! Special talents in online tech, PR, research, consulting processes etc. will have ample scope for application. Full job ad details below.

A truly outstanding Executive Assistant is required for a leading international strategy consultant, futurist, author and speaker, who works with some of the most prestigious organisations globally in his role at the head of two niche international consulting firms. This is an unusual, diverse and highly flexible role that will suit someone outstanding in their intelligence, dedication and work standards. The successful candidate will likely have worked in consulting, marketing/ PR, media, technology, professional services or related industries. Ultimately your objective will be to support the executive in his work in every way possible, working closely with others at the core of a small team. Expectations for the successful candidate will be consistently very high.

Major functions of the position include:

* General administration, including accounts and organisational systems

* Coordination of consulting projects

* Liaising with suppliers for accounting, research, design etc.

* Research for books, articles and speeches

* Preparation of reports and presentations

* Online technology support

* Client, media and speaking bureau communication

Essential attributes include:

* Very strong interest in and understanding of leading-edge business issues, including technology, media, professional services or financial services

* Experience in a demanding professional environment

* Perfection (or almost!) in all work and extreme attention to detail

* Outstanding knowledge of PC technology and applications, and at a minimum good understanding of Web 2.0 technologies

* Excellent online and offline research skills

* Very good writing ability

* Ability to self-start and work highly independently, sometimes from home, as well as within a tight team

* Adaptable, easy-going and collaborative

In addition, specific experience in consulting, media relations, event management, marketing or design environments will be highly regarded. Professional and industry experience is more valuable than traditional executive assistant skills.

You will be working in a very small office, and given the flexible nature of the work and amount of travel undertaken by the executive, are also likely to work frequently from home. The role is intended to be full-time, though for an outstanding candidate, given the flexibility of the position, it is possible that a part-time position could be created. The successful candidate will require their own laptop computer. The primary workplace is in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. The position would suit someone highly talented who would like a stimulating alternative to a corporate work environment or seeks flexibility in their work.

It is likely that there will be scope for the right person to move into professional client-facing roles over time if desired. There is the expectation of substantial learning, and there will be opportunities for career development.

The successful candidate will have responsibilities in two consulting firms:
